Reclaimed Cheshire handmade bricks, carefully salvaged and hand-sorted here at Jim Wise Reclamation. Thrown by hand from local clay generations ago, each brick carries the soft, sand-faced texture and warm red-to-orange tones that machine-made bricks simply cannot replicate. No two are identical — subtle variations in colour, face and weathering give any wall built from these bricks a genuine period character that's prized for restoration and sympathetic new-build work alike.
These bricks measure approximately 230mm x 70mm (9 x 2¾ inch), making them well suited to traditional Cheshire and wider North West properties. They're an ideal match for extensions, repairs and alterations to older buildings, as well as feature walls, fireplaces, garden walls and pathways where authentic reclaimed character matters.
Because they are genuinely reclaimed, expect natural lime mortar traces, the occasional minor chip and the honest wear of age — all part of their charm. They are frequently specified for conservation areas and listed-building projects where a like-for-like, sympathetic brick is required.
