Reclamation yards are amazing places to find interesting and inspirational items for your construction project, little job for your home, your garden, or even your place of work but they can be a little intimidating to some people. There is so much material, which means it can be tricky to know exactly what you’re getting yourself in for.

Timber

Wooden items are very common at reclamation yards. You should look out for more unusual items like period window shutters, but you will also definitely find doors and flooring - reclaimed and new.

OAK BEAMS

Reclaimed Oak Mantels are a very common item at a Reclamation Yard, At Jim Wise Reclamation we stock a number of Reclaimed oak beam mantels, all with original features adding plenty of character and originality to the beam. With waney edges the beam also has a series of original markings including saw marks, beaten edges and distressed faces. The reclaimed oak mantel can have has mortise holes, surface cracks, splits and character shakes that intensifies the appearance of this wonderful beam mantel.

SLEEPERS

 

Used & reclaimed wooden railway sleepers are wonderful and a truly unique material to use. Whether you want them for landscaping, building or furniture, old weathered railway sleepers have fantastic character that will enhance any project. Whether untreated hardwood or treated softwood, you'll find old reclaimed railway sleepers to be unique landscaping materials that come in many timber varieties: Pine, Oak, Jarrah, Azobe, Karri etc.
